La description

Consultation and Allergy/Food Intolerance Testing:

I would need you to write a food and liquid diary, with a note of any symptoms against the relevant day.

A full health history is taken, where I examine the symptom history against the food and liquid diary, and with all the combined information, guidance can be given where too make changes.  I provide information sheets giving you recommendations of changes to make and meal suggestions are sometimes emailed over as well.
Access via email is also available following the appointment, so patients can get ideas, guidance and support.  I try to reply to emails quickly, but committments sometimes means a few days wait.  But the communication does mean you get ongoing back up from me, through the highs and lows that change can bring about.
I use a machine called a Dietx machine which will measure the changes in small electrical fields which the body produces constantly.  As we lose and gain energy and our immune systems reacts too its environment, the electrical fields fluctuate.  Intolerances have the same effect, so the machine is able to detect the possibility of intolerances.  Small phials of allergens (problem foods for example) are placed into the machine, which is connected to the patient, through pressing a pen like rod onto the finger, and a reading is taken.

I don’t always test.  At times I may feel it isn’t necessary as the consultation itself can demonstrate where problems lie.
No blood is taken and no skin scratching is involved, so this is particularly useful for needle phobic patients and children.

The cost is £68.00 and the first appointment can take up to 1.5 hours.  Review appointments are £35.00, but I try to keep these too a minimum.
