Oxford Acupuncture offers affordable and effective acupuncture in Oxford and Henley-on-Thames.
More and more people are turning to acupuncture as a solution for their health. Ongoing scientific research backs up what many have experienced – that acupuncture works.
Acupuncture acts both as a treatment and as a preventative therapy. Some come to acupuncture for help with specific problems while others choose acupuncture to maintain health, or because they don’t feel as well as they could.
In Oriental medicine acupuncture treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms.
Because emphasis is placed on resolving the problem at its root, results can be both long lasting and widespread. Other seemingly unrelated issues can be resolved and your general sense of health and well-being can be enhanced. You are likely to sleep better, feel less stressed and have more energy and zest for life.
Acupuncture is widely accepted and used around the world and there is much research into the effectiveness of treatment. It is also prescribed by the NHS for certain conditions.
It is considered safe for all ages and can be used alongside conventional medicine. While acupuncture is not a substitute for conventional medicine, for some people, improving symptoms in order to reduce prescription medication is an important consideration. This will always be done in consultation with your GP or consultant.
The World Health Organisation According to the World Health Organization acupuncture is effective for treating 28 conditions and evidence indicates it may have an effective therapeutic value for many more. Side-effects are very rare – less than one in every 10,000 treatments and unlike some forms of medication there is no risk of dependency. Common complaints successfully and regularly treated include:
