My name is Leah Claydon and I have more than 30 years of conventional medicine experience to underpin my Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture. I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glas) and I still practise conventional medicine but love how Acupuncture treats the whole person and not just the symptom. I take time to really understand your health issues and collaborate with you to get better quickly. I often combine Western and Eastern approaches to get you better faster.
If say, you have back pain and see a physio or GP you will get pills or mobilisation and exercises but with me you will get acupuncture, exercises and we will explore how you got the back pain in the first place, how it is impacting on your life eg can\'t exercise leading to weight gain, leading lack of sleep and possibly feeling down. Acupuncture addresses all these problems to get you back on your feet quickly.
The treatment space is confidential, clean and welcoming and I am happy to see all ages. If you think you might be needle-phobic, don\'t worry, I am happy for you to come and try a needle free of charge and sometimes it may be possible to treat you without any needles at all. We use a variety of other techniques too such as massage, cupping and something called Moxa which is when we warm the acupuncture points and channels with a lighted stick at bit like a cigar or with a lighted cone.
Initial appointments are usually around 1.5 - 2 hours and follow ups are 50 minutes.
At certain times entry to the clinic is via intercom and via the rear entrance to the building. Check with me to see if you need to use this entrance. Parking is available off The Link, Market Place or Castle Street.
. There is a patients bathroom.
